Kit Care & Washing Guide
Kit Care & Washing Guide
Looking after your football kit properly will keep it looking sharp and performing well for longer. Follow these simple tips to get the most out of your gear.
Washing Your Football Shirts & Apparel
- Turn garments inside out before washing to protect any printing and the outer fabric.
- Wash on a cool cycle, ideally at 30°C, with similar colours.
- Use a mild detergent and avoid bleach, which can damage fabric and colours.
- Avoid fabric softeners, as they can clog the breathable fibres of performance fabrics.
- Fasten any zips and remove the kit from the machine promptly after washing.
Drying
- Air dry your kit naturally, away from direct heat and strong sunlight.
- Avoid tumble drying, as high heat can shrink fabrics and crack printed details.
- Do not hang heavy wet items in a way that stretches the fabric out of shape.
Ironing & Printing
- If ironing is needed, use a low heat setting and iron inside out.
- Never iron directly over printed names, numbers, or designs.
Caring for Football Boots & Footwear
- Remove excess mud and dirt after each use with a soft brush or damp cloth.
- Do not put boots in the washing machine or tumble dryer.
- Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature; stuffing them with newspaper can help them keep their shape and absorb moisture.
- Store boots in a cool, dry place away from direct heat sources such as radiators.
General Tips
- Always check the care label on each individual item, as specific instructions may vary.
- Treat stains as soon as possible for the best results.
- Rotate your gear where possible to extend its lifespan.
